OpenAI introduced ChatGPT in November 2022, and within a few months, it had become the fastest-adopted technology in history, with more than 100 million users.

But it is still the wild, wild west for many. And while there are many benefits and pros to using it in the workplace, there are also pitfalls. This seminar will discuss some of those benefits and drawbacks and better prepare attendees for working with this new technology in the workplace.

While ChatGPT is in the early stages of the AI revolution, Owoc (2021) contends that today, the world is in the "Artificial Narrow Intelligence" stage. However, by 2040, it will enter "Artificial General Intelligence," when AI systems are routinely equal to human intelligence. Owoc eventually sees a world entering the "Artificial Super Intelligence" stage, where AI systems will have far greater intelligence than humans.

Overall, the AI hardware and services market is supposed to grow to $90 billion by 2025, up from $36 billion in 2020, according to UBS.
