Volunteer Management Support (Programs & Events Team) Volunteers support our organization in so many ways! From helping with event setup and breakdown, to checking people in or registering new members at events, our AWT volunteers are the lifeblood of helping us run events. The Volunteer Chair is responsible for recruiting and organizing volunteers for our AWT events and other AWT activities. Who's Looking & Who's Hiring (Job Assistance Team) We love connecting our hiring and job seeking AWT members, sponsors, partners, and more. The Looking & Hiring Chair is responsible for sharing information about our AWT members who are job seeking with our AWT sponsors and other partners who are hiring. The chair is also responsible for promoting open positions in our Slack. |

All Austin Women in Technology fundraisers and events benefit the local Austin chapters of GirlStart & Dress for Success. A couple times a year, AWT will co-host events with these community partners so that members and non-members can learn about their organizations and how they can support them. Girlstart's mission is to increase girls' interest and engagement in STEM through innovative, nationally-recognized informal STEM education programs. Girlstart aspires to be the national leader in designing and implementing innovative, high quality informal STEM education programs that inspire girls to transform our world.
Girls Empowerment Network's mission is to ignite the power in girls by teaching them the skills to thrive and believe in their ability to be unstoppable. The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. They are committed to providing services and opportunities to help disadvantaged women establish a work history and leave the cycle of poverty.
Code2College is a nonprofit organization committed to dramatically increasing the number of diverse and low-income high school students who enter and excel in STEM undergraduate majors and careers. Code2College's after-school college and career readiness program prepares students (who primarily identify as Black, Latino, and girls) for a future in STEM through after-school coding classes, professional skills and college readiness workshops, and paid internships, and more. |
