Welcome! Come join your fellow female founders for conversation and community as we gather together for a Lunch & Learn. This event is perfect for founders at the idea or pre-seed stage, who are planning to raise their first angel or VC round.

Our special guest speaker will be Sidney Collin, the co-founder of De Oro Devices. Sidney will be sharing her experience fundraising, including two rounds of funding from angels and round of funding from VCs. A bout Sidney: Sidney Collin is the inventor of NexStride, and is the co-founder and CEO of De Oro Devices. Sidney started the company while studying Biomedical Engineering at Cal Poly. She has an academic research background in computational neuroscience, with a research paper published in the Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology. Sidney was awarded Capital Factory’s 2022 Founder of the Year award, Cal Poly’s Outstanding Woman in Engineering Award, Outstanding Student Award, Lisa Hufford Scholarship Award, and was also identified as one of the most influential women at Cal Poly by the Wire in their 30 under 30 list. The Pacific Coast Business Times recognized Sidney as an accomplished young business leader in their 40 under 40 list as well as their Who’s Who in Health Care, Insurance & Life Science lineup.
